On the web, you’ll find the bin in the main Google Photos menu on the left of the screen. You'll then want to go to the Google Photos bin. Tap ‘Move to bin’ and the first stage of deletion is complete. Tap this and you’ll get the same pop-up as above. Open an image from the main thumbnail grid and you’ll see the bin icon in the bottom right corner. Using the Google Photos app on a smartphone, the delete option is just as simple. Click ‘Move to bin’ and that’s what will happen. You’ll see a message confirming whether you want to remove the photo from your Google Account, synced devices, and places shared within Google Photos. If you’re accessing Google Photos from a web browser, simply open the image you want to delete from the thumbnail grid and click the bin icon in the top right corner.

Delete a photo and it will move to the bin, which is the first step towards permanent deletion. The Bin is where images actually go to be erased. Archiving photos won't save storage space or erase your images.

It allows you to reduce the clutter in your main Google Photos library: send a photo to the Archive and it will disappear from the main thumbnail grid – but it will still be accessible. There! Now you're free from the chains of your old tweets. That way, when it ages out and gets deleted, you'll already have a backup tucked away outside of Twitter.
One option, the one I use, is the IFTTT service to immediately archive a tweet into a spreadsheet the moment it is tweeted. If you do set a service to automatically delete your tweets, you may also want to consider finding a way to archive them in real time-especially if you are a data hoarder. Alternatively, you could go in and re-delete on a routine basis, or simply start building up a new archive until you get anxious again. This can be great for maintaining hygiene, but it requires you to let Tweet Delete have constant access to your Twitter account (and while Tweet Delete shows no indications of being malicious, this is a security risk). With Tweet Delete, you can set the app to automatically remove any tweets older than a certain age. Once you've dispensed with your archive, you'll have a choice about how to go forward. If things seem strange, wait a bit, especially if your method is running Tweet Delete repeatedly to cull more than 3,200 tweets.

Simply connect your Twitter account to your deletion mechanism of choice and follow its instructions. Now that you have your archive, it's time to get down to business.
